After a year of Grammy nominations, Blxst is back with his new EP. Just to be clear 2, released on Red Bull Records/EVGLE. The set of four includes Larry June, Roddy Rich, Mustard and Terrace Martin.
“‘Passionate’ is more than just a song for me,” Blksst says of the project. “I like to look at it more as a way of thinking, especially working with Roddy on this album. I think it’s cool to see someone’s success go from zero to a hundred, especially if it’s someone from their hometown. I just remember we were in the studio before anyone knew who we were and we had the same drive and passion. This track is a look back at where we’ve been, where we are now, where we’re going and what brought us here today.”
The new EP serves as a homecoming project, celebrating his role in the city as one of the city’s most talented artists.
Blxst adds: “Just for Clarity 2″ is the second part of a project I’ve put together for my supporters to get real-time updates on what’s happening. When I think about being clear, I think about being clear and getting straight to the point. This is a moment for me to express and be honest and transparent, which is a theme throughout the EP. I call it the perfect four-piece because it’s intentionally short and sweet, but it’s also a pre-debut snack.”
